Android Market Reaches 50,000 Application
In just 18 months, the Android Market application exchange has penetrated 50,000 applications. The amount is still less than application in Apple’s App Store, but the growth is very high from day to day that could make it very competitive.
Google which building initiatives with an open source based platform, states in December 2009 there are 16,000 new applications. In the middle of March 2010, the number of applications doubled nearly twice to 30,000 applications.
Finally, the AndroLib site released new statistics that show the Android application market has reached 50,000 units. Each with a ratio of 59 percent free applications and 41 percent paid applications.
As comparison, application on Apple App Store reached the same number 50,000 applications within 12 months since its launch. Now, more than 190,000 applications are in Apple exchange
