Nokia Management plans to remove the Ovi brand form its cell phone products from late 2012. Ovi brand has been used for online Nokia service outlets that provides a variety of content.

OVI service is accessible from Nokia mobile devices through the Nokia Ovi Suite or through Internet sites ovi.com. Ovi becomes the center of application for Nokia users to download applications, games, personalize the phone with themes, maps, and music.

“In the future, this Nokia application services will be only Nokia Services, Nokia Ovi Suite will be no longer available,” Nokia said in its website.

Lenovo, The Most Potential Company to Acquire Palm

Ericsson Demonstrate LTE Data Transfer up to 1 Gbps

lteIn the GSMA Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, Ericsson broke the world record by displaying data through a technology transfer long term evolution (LTE) or 4G speeds of up to 1 gigabit per second for the downlink.

Demonstration for the first time in the world using the latest technology and multicarrier multiple-input-multiple-output, MIMO, and runs on a commercial LTE from Ericsson. By combining these technologies, the speed up to 1 gigabit per second can be achieved. The demonstration uses four wide-band network with 20 MHz each for a total bandwidth 80 MHz and used 4 x 4 MIMO, the data sent through the interface over the air on four independent bit-stream.

LTE, the future mobile communication technology, allowing large data transfer with efficient and cost effective through the optimization of the frequency spectrum. With increasing speed and latency cutting, consumers can enjoy a variety of applications, such as realtime web access, online game, social media collaboration and video conferencing more easily whenever and wherever they may be. LTE will meet the needs of Internet applications move to new and more sophisticated in the future.
